March 25-31 2013
Mar. 31st, 2013 12:04 amI did my stretches, lifted weights, yoga, ran up the hill and back carrying 5lbs in each hand, core trainer, and punched the heavybag for two minutes. I’m feeling better, but I’m being easy and cut down how many reps I do.
I worked on the Harley pulling wires here and there trying to figure out where the short is. I called my friend Mac who tried to talk me through some diagnostics over the phone, but decided that he needs to come with his equipment to do some tests when I am sure I’m over the flu. He also said I could borrow his little car if I needed it. That’s cool because I’ll need to get down to Autozone to pick up the fuel pump for the Cougar.
And that’s what I worked on next was the Cougar, cleaning out all the garbage that had fell under the back seat from the previous owner; Zippo lighter, $1.25 in change, a couple of music CD... I got the electric connection and the fuel line disconnected.
I did my studies; a lesson in Beginning Latin book, and another in “1100 words you need to know workbook”, and I drew something: a person standing.
I studied “Molecular and Cell Biology for Dummies”:
Tuesday 26- another nice day.
I’m still feeling a little weak and just did my stretches and yoga.
I called the Rocky at Honda just before noon like he asked to give him time to talk to his crew about the scooter. He wasn’t there but at the Marine Base giving a safety lecture; figures. Chris the mechanic said he’d be back by 2pm.
I called back at 3pm and got ahold of Rocky and we talked about the scooter. He saying that I could trade it in on another model- I saying that it is a lemon and if I traded it in he’d have to sell it to some unsuspecting buyer. He agreed to call Honda to see what they want to do. I made it very clear that I don’t want this Honda Scooter anymore. He will have Austin pick it up on Wednesday.
I then decided to go to Mac’s and get the little car to drive down to Twentynine and get the Cougar’s fuel pump at Autozone. I drove my truck to Mac’s and we checked the oil and water on the little car and when we tried to start it the battery was dead. Well I don’t want to get stranded at Autozone and decided to charge it overnight. We sat around to yap for a spell drinking colas. Mac was going to Autozone for a part he needed tomorrow and will pick up my pump. When I got home I called Autozone and ordered and paid for it.
Kelly called me recently and will be needing a ride to the store soon. I said I would help her out again until she gets things together. But I need to get some vehicle of mine working!
I watched season 5 episode 18 of “Castle; The Wild Rover”: a body is discovered in a cake mixer and to save an old girlfriend Detective Kevin Ryan needs to return to his old persona he left 7 years prior as an undercover agent infiltrating the Irish Mob.
Wednesday 27- the temps got into the mid 70s.
I did my stretches and yoga.
Austin came by at around 2pm to pick up the lemon Honda Scooter with only 708 miles and a whole lot of pain and frustration on my part. Never did get a call from Rocky, but again I figured as much seeing he has to call Honda, so I’ll give him a little time and call him tomorrow to check up on any progress.
I watched season 2 episode16 of “Numbers: Protest”: a homemade bomb blows up an Army recruiting building.
Thursday 28- a little breezy but nice!
I did my stretches, lifted weights, yoga, ran the hill with 5lbs in each hand, core trainer, and punched the heavybag for two minutes.
I got a message from Donna the County Rep who said she will be at our community breakfast at 8:30am and at the board meeting on Monday at 7pm and will be happy to meet me... the 8:30
I called the Honda dealer to find the status of what we’re going to do with the Scooter. Rocky was out delivering a bike and would be back later. I got ahold of him at 4pm and their decision is still up in the air and may have something for me tomorrow.
Linda H. called to say hi and we chatted for a short spell.
I wrote many poems on FaceBook these last couple of days, but I did about four of them tonight.
I watched season 2 episode 17 of “Numbers; Mind Games”: A psychic remote views killings of illegal immigrants.
Friday 29- a little overcast but nice.
I did my stretches and yoga.
I went over to Mac’s to clean out the his little car so I can use it to take Kelly and me to the store today. I did a little work on his wife’s computer before I left. Mac gave me the fuel pump for my Cougar that he picked up for me yesterday.
I got to Kelly’s home at 1pm and she was ready by 1:20. I had to leave the little car running because I put Stop-Leak in the radiator and had to run it for at least half an hour; dang thing still leaks like a sieve afterwards, but not as much as before. We had to keep our eyes on the temp gauge all through our travels to town. We first went to get her sick cat some special food at a pet store by Vons. I treated Kelly to lunch at Sizzler for her birthday and gave her a little gift. She just had her back surgery a few weeks ago and is still having problems with pain. The device she had implanted into her back is supposed to relieve the pain. She carries a small magnet to put up to the device to shut it down when she walks through security doors at WalMart and other stores or she’ll get zapped. After lunch we went to Vons, then to WalMart, and finally to Staters Brothers market where she forgotten to hold the magnet to her device went we walked out and got zapped a good one. I drove her home and stayed for a spell yapping and petting her critters; I guess they were glad to see me.
I got home a little bit after 9 and started checking the internet out for how to install that fuel pump.
Saturday 29- still overcast but still very nice.
I did my stretches. I also watered all the plants while I was outside.
I updated the Copper Mountain Mesa Website and sent out the Newsletter.
I called the Honda dealer to see if they came up with anything on the lemon Scooter they sold me. We are talking about upgrading me to a Yamaha Zuma 50; if we can work out a deal where everyone is happy I’ll go for it, otherwise I may have to take Honda to court if they can’t work anything out with the dealer. Rocky said he’d call me on Tuesday.
I walked over to my out of town neighbors Mark and Gloria to say howdy. They are out here for a couple of day’s and bring me donuts when they come... got a couple of maple bars this time :)
I called a few family and friends while the rice and chili beans were cooking up to be ready for potluck at 4pm.
We had quite a few folks, about 30, showing up bringing all kinda of foods and cakes and other yummy things to stuff down our mouths. Annelies, who has my old job of writing for the newspaper, showed up so I’ll leave the writing about potluck to her. After potluck there was an egg coloring contest for the children being held outside. I stood and watched for a short spell as the kids colored the eggs and dropped a few on the ground; aww ya just have to love them kids :)
I got home around 5:30 to feed the doves. The mother dove is still sitting on her eggs in the nest and I do my best not to bother her. I called my Brother Kevin like I do everyday to jaw for a short spell.
I don’t see nothing much happening on Sunday except me working on the Cougar getting that fuel pump in and hopefully getting it running, so I’ll end the month of March with this post. If something interesting happens I’ll post a special update :)
Goodbye to March, you broke my two motorcycles... no actually you been a very productive month!
***** Stuff I Wrote *****
Oh my...trust is the last refuge, wall, barrier to fall; we then stand naked before our persecutor's lash; be it whip or tongue, to fend off without shield nor armor against those seeking our injustice by torment and silent pain.
Life is a gathering of unknowns...
Yellow petals dance in the cool ocean breeze, the smell of wet dirt, fresh cut grass and other growing things, honey bees be buzzing, birds are ah chirping, as butterflies flutter stretching their wings, all saying hello to me, these sights and sounds of a brand new spring...
Cast out from Hades hidden gates, to roam forever in silent space, adrift between beginning and today, dark depths of anger that must be stayed. Lust it be that he may roam around the center but never home. To live a life in this bitter realm between birth and death the great unknown. To cry these tears of love not won and shed those chains of earthly bounds. To climb to heights that yet be found whose loveliness in concept lies planted deep down; in dreams, a verse, a thought of joy, behold these words are just mere toys, to express oneself and relieve the pain, that seeps from memories unrestrained.
You walk through this wonderful garden of greens and grays with shades of golden veils with your eyes wide open to drink from the beauty inside your soul and cast it upon this garden of awe to become one...
A children’s poem need not be long
but it can't be very short
to get your message across to kids
it must contain those special words
that mostly rhyme with wart!
Some bleed the color of money and greed; don't let them infect you! Get your booster shot of Love today! It's the vaccine that cures many ills
I’ve been using the Samsung ARM ChromeBook, $249, for a few months now and use it as my main computer. It didn’t start off that way, but now I find myself going to that laptop more than my HP Pavilion DM1 Windows 8 laptop (I upgraded from Win 7 and what a mistake that was) I write in Google Docs now instead of MS Word 2007. This laptop also has less distractions and I get more done than on the Win 8.
It is still missing Skype :(
If Win 8 is the way Microsoft is headed in the future, I’ll switch to Chrome and Linux… Lubuntu runs just fine on my Dell Mini 9 :)
Yeah, I finally gotten over the flu last Monday, but been feeling really weak this week. The week I was sick went by in a haze of blurred black and white pictures; as if riding a wobbly carousel taken control of by some sinister evil speed junky whose main purpose for existence was to push and pull the brass speed lever either full or stop
every few minutes...
An Ode to Bad Children:
There be evil dragonflies with tattoos of skulls and crossbones, on spider silk wings spun from silver and gold. They carry off bad children and other small prey, to far away places where ogres do stay.
There are no parents nor teachers, no school where ogres rule. No lessons to study; those are only for fools.
They are fed cake and candies with ice cream galore, donuts be plenty until they can eat no more.
Fattened now plump to the woodshed they’re led, to be stewed in a pot with a big copper lid. Seasoned by directions from a cannibal’s cookbook, stirred to perfection, then simmered until cooked.
The pot is now carried by kids kept as pets, up to the dining hall to be spooned out and et.
The porridge be eaten by pumpkins with hairy armpits, and leftovers be ground into tiny small bits. Those bits will be spread throughout these dark lands to drift with the wind and stain the white sands.
So be good you children, be true to your heart, or you may end being eaten to become an ogre’s foul fart :)
