Sunday 01- another hot day with a stiff wind in the evening.
I did my stretches and took Cassie for a walk.
I corresponded with my friend Bonnie to begin the process of her creating a cover for my new book “Under another Star” the 4th and last book in the series “Rainbow at the End of Tomorrow”.
Monday 02- around the 100 mark but a nice breeze in the evening like yesterday.
I did my stretches. Because I was going to town and leaving Cassie over at Sherry’s house I didn’t take her for a walk. She will get enough exercise playing with Barney over there.
I went to my bank to get a Medallion Signature for the trust funds, but they told me after an hours wait that I needed to make an appointment. I explained to this bank person what I wanted and he said that I needed a legal document from the trust fund itself... another day wasted :(
I went to WalMart and did a bunch of shopping and bought some new socks and shorts to wear. I got back at Sherry’s around 4pm and we then went to Carl’s Jr for dinner, stopped off at Staters to get some things I forgot, then back to Sherry’s to collect Cassie and go on home.
I bought a new harness for her because the old one she had outgrown and was a tight fit. I took her for a walk and the new harness works great.
I got a call from Tom Merritt to go outside and watch the International Space Station fly overhead. I was looking towards the southwest when it appeared four minutes after his call. It reminded me of a dark October night way back in 1957 when I was 6 years old. My Mother took me outside to the backyard as the Russian spacecraft Sputnik flew overhead. She held me in her arms and raised me high in the air as if to give me a closer look at the craft and said to me, “Remember this moment. This is history being made.” Well I still remember that special moment.
Tuesday 03- got to around 100 again.
I did my stretches, lifted weights, took Cassie for a walk, and core trainer.
I called one of the stock funds for information on how to transfer it into my name so I can then disperse it among my siblings.
I did some editing on book number four.
Wednesday 04- weather same as yesterday.
I did my stretches, lifted weights, yoga, took Cassie for a mile run, core trainer, and punched the heavybag for two minutes. The scrapes on my knees have healed nicely from when the new swamp cooler feel on me and I’m able to do yoga again.
I worked on editing my book.
Thursday 05- getting hotter.
I did my stretches.
Cassie and me went to visit Barney the dog and Sherry in Yucca Valley. The gas didn’t work when she went to make us grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch. She called the gas company and they came out in about 45min. It was her whole gas unit and regulator that had to be replaced but at no cost to her.
Friday 06- around 107 degrees here at my house.
I did my stretches, lifted weights, yoga, took Cassie for a mile run, core trainer, and punched the heavybag for two minutes.
I updated the Copper Mountain Mesa Website and sent out the Newsletter.
We went for an evening walk around sunset when it was much cooler.
Saturday 07- again it was very hot; I love my new swamp cooler, keeps it around 79 degrees inside.
I did my stretches and took Cassie for a walk before the ground got too hot.
Cassie ate through her harness I had just bought her and she’ll have to wait to go for a walk until I find the old harness she grew out of.
It was too dang hot so we stayed mostly in the house until sunset when I rode the scooter to both mailboxes; an 18 mile round trip. When I got back me and Cassie played fetch in the yard.
***** Stuff I Wrote this Week******
An empty house full of memories...
Don't feel guilty my precious one, you are free to roam the realms, to be swept away on daisy paddles upon the breeze you'll fly. Never knowing a gloomy day, may your light shine brightly in the sky.
We think we're strong until something like losing a loved one comes knocking at our door; BANG BANG BANG! And wakes us up from our slumber of everyday lives and drags us into a realm of deep grieving and pain.
We must rise up and speak our minds to break through the silence of being ordinary and push the boundaries of our very existence to make any kind of difference in the world today.
~RD
We used to be young and dance barefoot upon lush green fields of grass chasing bubbles in the air...
Interpretation of the world around depends on the observer and their ability to sort through the bullshit of others. ;)
