I did my stretches.
I updated the Copper Mountain Mesa Website and sent out the Newsletter.
I continued to install updates on the Dell Mini 9, but unfortunately it ran out of disk space. I thought I could squeak by on the 16Gigs on the SSD drive, but it wasn’t to be.
I went on EBay and ordered a rear rim with a tubeless tire on it to replace the wired rear rim on the Harley.
I got caught up with my astronomy reading.
I watched the movie “League of Extraordinary Gentlemen” (2003)... okay movie but a little corny here and there.
Monday 18- sunny but cold and windy.
I did my stretches, lifted weights, yoga, ran a mile and a half with 1.5lbs around each wrists, core trainer, and punched the heavybag for five minutes.
I decided to do another fresh install of Win7 on the Dell Mini 9 without Microsoft Office this time. I’ll use some other word processor that doesn’t take up so much disk space.
I rode my scooter over to Mac to pay him a visit. We yakked for a short spell and went for a walk around in his collection of junk and other riches in his yard.
I did my stretches, lifted 10lb dumbbells and went for my evening walk with my backpack listening to an astronomy lecture on CMB.
I did my studies; a lesson in Beginning Latin book, and another in “1100 words you need to know workbook”, and I drew something: an old man.
I did my stretches, lifted 20lb dumbbells, and went for a night run.
I began chapter 11 of “Molecular and Cell Biology for Dummies”: Cellular Respiration.
I practiced my guitar.
I began the chapter on ants, bees, and wasps- Order Hymenoptera, in the book “The Practical Entomologist”.
Tuesday 19- cold, cloudy, gusts of winds, with a chance of rain/snow..
I did my stretches, lifted weights, yoga, ran a mile and a half with 1.5lbs around each wrists, core trainer, and punched the heavybag for five minutes.
The install of Win7 on the Dell Mini 9 and all its updates finally finished.
I worked in the yard getting everything ready incase it rains. There is a 60% chance of rain today and a 80% chance tonight of rain/snow.

I practiced my guitar.
I finished the chapter on ants, bees, and wasps- Order Hymenoptera, in the book “The Practical Entomologist”.
Wednesday 20- it snowed! I was dressed in my PJ's ready for bed when I thought I'd take a peek outside to see if it was snowing because it suddenly got kinda quiet outside... Sure enough it was Snowing and the temp was down to 28 degrees!!!! Needless to say I quickly ran back inside :)
I did my stretches and went for a short walk in the cold wind.
I did my studies; a lesson in Beginning Latin book, and another in “1100 words you need to know workbook”, and I drew something: a dog with a ball.
I went for a short evening walk in the wind and cold.
I continued reading chapter 11 of “Molecular and Cell Biology for Dummies”: Cellular Respiration.
I started and finished the chapter on Minor Insect Orders, in the book “The Practical Entomologist”; it was also the last chapter in the book.
I watched season 2 episode 21 of “Voyager”: Janeway and Chakotay are left to live out their lives on a planet after being infected with a virus and Voyage is sent on her way home without them.
Thursday 21- cold, cloudy, and windy.
I did my stretches, lifted weights, yoga, ran up the hill and back with 5lbs dumbbells in each hand, core trainer, and punched the heavybag for five minutes.
Worked in the battery room changing out a bad battery for what might be a good one; we’ll see once I get a charge on it. I also fired up all my working vehicles and let them run for a spell.
I did my stretches, lifted 10lb dumbbells and went for my evening walk with my backpack listening to an astronomy lecture on multi universes.
I haven’t been feeling very well these last few days but seem to manage getting my little projects done... yesterday and today I felt sick to my stomach, before this I was achy all over.
I did my studies; a lesson in Beginning Latin book, and another in “1100 words you need to know workbook”, and I drew something: a bug on a stem.
It was mighty cold and windy, but it wasn’t raining so I did my stretches, lifted 20lb dumbbells, and went for a night run.
I watched a new episode of “Elementary: Possibility Two”: A rich man feels that his DNA has been messed with to cause him to go senile and wants Holmes to investigate.
I’m still reading chapter 11 of “Molecular and Cell Biology for Dummies”: Cellular Respiration; the Krebs cycle. It is a long and involved chapter and it’s going to take a while.
I practiced my guitar.
Friday 22- still dang cold and breezy.
I did my stretches, lifted weights, yoga, ran up the hill and back with 5lbs dumbbells in each hand, core trainer, and punched the heavybag for 2 minutes.
I still not feeling very well today. My friend Kula called and we yapped about her computer being slow and how to fix it and I mentioned my being nauseated. She thought it was the GMO wheat or something I’ve been eating. Tomorrow is potluck and I hope I’m feeling better by then.
Dell had a new download of the Chrome OS for my Dell Mini 9 and I downloaded and installed it. It kinda works okay, but the touchpad is messed up and the WIFI isn’t working.
I did my stretches, lifted 10lb dumbbells and went for my evening walk with my backpack listening to an astronomy lecture on type 1A supernova.
I did my studies; a lesson in Beginning Latin book, and another in “1100 words you need to know workbook”, and I drew something: a bald guy.
I did my stretches, lifted 20lb dumbbells, and went for a night run.
I watched season 2 episode 15 of “Castle”: a daughter of a rich Egyptian businessman is kidnapped along with Castle’s daughter Alexis. Very intense!
I’m still reading chapter 11 of “Molecular and Cell Biology for Dummies”: Cellular Respiration; pyruvate oxidation. I must stress that I really don’t fully understand all this but I’m hoping some of it rubs off.
I practiced my guitar.
Saturday 23- the day started out really cold and windy so I figured that it would be that way all day and decided to stay inside. Little did I know that it warmed up to 72 degrees... the winds were still high. I only found this out at 3pm when I went to water my friend’s plants while they are away on vacation.
I did my stretches and felt better today.
I cooked up some rice with chili beans for potluck.
I downloaded and installed Lubuntu Linux 12.10 (a lighter version of Ubuntu) on the Dell Mini 9 and wrote over the Chrome OS that was quirky. I still don’t have WIFI though and will have to look into that.
Before I went to Potluck, I went and watered my friend’s plants. One of her trees looked like it was on its last leg and I gave it extra water.
I arrived at the community center early but there were already a few cars there; always a good sign. It was Chris Jonas and his granddaughter Anna’s birthday; Karry Kearns brought a big birthday cake from Stater Brothers for the both of them. Before we all got in line for the food we all sang Happy Birthday. There was whole bunches of cakes, cookies and sweets things for us to eat this time. Desserts come in waves; sometimes there isn’t any desserts because at the last potluck folks brought too much, so I’m figuring that next potluck there’ll not be any or very little.
Ruth Malton brought cookies. Dorothy Jacobsen used her magic touch to create a wonderful chicken broccoli divan casserole and brownies. Dyan Carroll outdone herself bringing roasted potatoes, BBQ meatballs, and lemon bars that melted right in yer mouth and brought a smile to your face. Marie Morrison made a delicious red velvet cake. Weekenders Jenny and David Mason who’ve a cabin here for over fifteen years, came bearing BBQ Sliders that did exactly that; slid right on down to yer belly! Not to be outdone by Dyan, Mary and Chris Koval cooked up a feast of chicken green bean casserole, a Santa Fe turkey pasta casserole, and banana fig muffins. Rose Matich had some cranberry sauce to share with the desert folks. And birthday boy Chris Jonas made his world famous award winning macaroni salad. Well we all were mighty stuffed afterwards and lingered around for a spell swapping tales of this and that while dodging the kids playing on the floor with toy cars scooting around.
I got back home around 7pm and called my Brother Kevin like I do almost everyday to touch base. I spent the rest of the night working on my journal, getting it ready to post.
***** Stuff I Wrote *****
A thought; a memory from beyond forever which brings us to dance upon our fears and shout out at our demons to begone! Only then may we rise above the ordinary and drift among the stars.
I hear those songs and can also play them in my head like you. I also make up my own songs and play them on my guitar. I really don't listen to anything else; I think it takes away from our creativity... I made up a sign and put it up on my wall that says "CREATE"....
Microsoft is changing the way they sell Office. One is where you purchase Office 2013 for $140 and use it on a single PC; where on earlier versions you could put it on 3 computers. The other is called Office 365 which is cloud based and costs $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year.
I do a lot of writing and I use different computers to do so. I don't use a spreadsheet or any other programs included with MS Office 2007. I like MS Office but I feel that Microsoft has gotten (or have been for a long time) full of themselves. I also use Google Docs, but I prefer MS Office. I am not joined at the hip with Microsoft and will look for open source or comparable low cost alternatives (Not Mac, they're full of themselves too)... It is not worth it to me to have a word processor that costs me $10 a month (I wish I could earn that off of the stuff I write) when there are alternatives out there... the answer is a resounding no! I will not be upgrading to any new version of Microsoft Office.
