Saturday 26

Saturday 26- I did my stretches and ran two miles.
Today’s Weather was: Temps of around 30 and 51 degrees, slight breeze, humidity around 34 percent, overcast skies.
According to the National Weather Service: “Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 53. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph. Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35. Light and variable wind.”
I went over to Stoney’s where his son Jimmy and wife Clarice, daughter Angela, nephew Ryan, and grandma Mary just arrived for a visit for the next couple of days. Jimmy was in the backyard taking apart an old shed that had blown down last spring so I decided to help him dismantle it. I told Angela to go get my camera and take a few pictures. We were lifting a large part of the shed when I tripped over some debris and fell right on my butt and twisted my leg that kind of hurt into the night. We got the shed all torn down and I told them I had to go to the community center just in case somebody showed up to our canceled potluck. I had written in my column a few weeks ago that we were having a potluck but had only found out last Tuesday that no one was going to be there with a key to get in so they had canceled it. Well I’d feel mighty sad if someone showed up and no one was there so the two kids and I went down and waited for 45min but nobody showed. It amazes me that the two kids found crazy things to do in those 45min we were there. We got back to watch some old Lee Van Cleef western called “Barquero” (1970) until dinner was ready; we had lasagna with a salad and for dessert there was Grandma Mary’s world famous pecan pie! Afterwards I showed Angela how to play some cords on the guitar and had her playing eight cords and strumming by the time we were done; I got my practice for the day! Then Stoney, Jimmy and I sat around jawing for a long spell.
I got home a little before ten and started watching “Castle” but it was a rerun and I watched “Frontline” instead; it was about the credit card system and how the banks come up with ways to add fees to get more money from consumers.
I did my stretches; wrote to my journal, posted it to the web, and called it a night.
