March 01-09 2013
Mar. 9th, 2013 10:44 pmWelcome to the month of March!- the weather was so nice that I wore short pants for the first time since November.
I did my stretches, lifted weights, yoga, ran a mile and a half with 1.5lbs around each wrists, core trainer, and punched the heavybag for five minutes.
I updated the Copper Mountain Mesa Website and sent out the Newsletter.
I was doing some work around the yard when Linda H. called to say hi. I asked her if she wanted to go on an evening walk with me and she said that would be cool. She brought me two books on the desert called “Desert Holes” by Pinau Merlin, and “Scats and Tracks” by James C. Halfpenny; I thought that was very nice of her to do :)
I did my studies; a lesson in Beginning Latin book, and another in “1100 words you need to know workbook”, and I drew something: a dog/cat thingy.
I did my stretches, lifted 20lb dumbbells, and went for a night run.
I finally finished chapter 11 of “Molecular and Cell Biology for Dummies”.

Saturday 02- another beautiful day with short pants :)
I did my stretches, yoga, and light exercises.
I was watering my plants with a bucket I found on Linda’s and my walk yesterday, when Sherry drove up with lemon cookies from the Girl Scouts. We talked for a short spell and then she was off again on down the road on her assigned duties.
I went back to watering and listening to an astronomy lecture of matter/antimatter annihilation at the beginning of the universe; we are lucky there was more matter, but why was there more?
Sunday 03- nice warm breeze with a few clouds overhead...
I slept like a rock last night, falling asleep at my computer around 2am... waking at 7am... falling to sleep at the computer again around 8:30... and finally waking at 12 noon! I didn't know if I should eat breakfast or lunch :/
I called friends and family throughout the day.

I worked cleaning up the yard and watering a few plants.
I rode the scooter down to Lear Ave to get my mail there.
I wired the camper for solar and put a solar panel on top; now I have lights!

I spent the better part of the day writing a letter for our community to send to our county supervisor requesting funds to repair our roof and such: “rural communities have been hindered from receiving block grant funds by the new county policy, which puts these funds in the hands of the large cities to distribute to whom they deem worthy. The Copper Mountain Mesa Community Association has for the past two years applied for these funds from the City of Yucca Valley; each time we have been told to apply again next year.” I have been in contact with a representative of the county and need to get the letter to her by Thursday.
UPS delivered a 32 Gig SD card that I ordered from Amazon at 2am Tuesday morning, dang that was fast.
I did my stretches, lifted 10lb dumbbells and went for my evening walk with my backpack listening to an astronomy lecture on the geometry of the universe. I finished the lecture in my camper and then read my Sky and Telescope magazines.

Friday 08- cold, windy, and wet with rain.
Even though it was cold and windy I did my stretches, lifted weights, yoga, ran up the hill and back carrying 5lbs dumbbells in each hand, core trainer, and punched the heavybag for two minutes. The rain started again right after I got done with my exercises; lucky me!
I updated the Copper Mountain Mesa Website and sent out the Newsletter.
The rain stopped for a spell and I rode my little scooter down to my mailbox on Lear Ave. to get a package that arrived today. It was an antenna for my MIFI mobile wireless. On the way back home it seemed that I was racing the rain behind me, and I pressed the little scooter as hard as I could and got home as it started to pour down on buckets.
I did my stretches, lifted 10lb dumbbells, but didn’t go for my evening walk. I did go out to the camper to read Sky & Telescope magazines.

I worked around the insides of the house today, cleaning this and that and moving stuff around; kinda getting ready for spring cleaning I guess.
I did my stretches, lifted 10lb dumbbells and went for my evening walk with my backpack. I noticed today that there are sprouts of green coming out of the ground all over. It looks to be that we will have a lovely spring here in the high desert. The large black ants are starting to build their mounds; I didn’t see many of them last year like I usually do in the past. I went and read for a spell in the camper.

***** Stuff I Wrote *****
I believe, and always have, that everyone is equal. That you have to stand up for your rights against those who would take them away and yourself for letting them.
Ripped from a body faded by hunger neglect I collapse... my spirit moves on...
Knowledge is to be clawed and fought for, ripped from pages of books, teachers and other visionaries, greedily devoured, consumed, processed and then shared among others.
The stars in the sky only sparkle for your eyes, while the Moon above smiles down upon filling your heart with shimmering silver. The Sun rises high jealous of the night sky to wash away the stars and Moon to be with only you, my dear sweet love...
I want to leave as little of a carbon footprint as possible and been off grid since the beginning of the 70s. I was listening to a radio talk show a few years back who said that solar was a waste of time and would never be useful... of course I laughed at him being that my whole house is solar electric and the radio I was listening to him on was powered by solar. It's really not how cheap electric power from a power plant is, it is what it burns and puts into the air that you and I and everyone else breathes...I do not want to be part of that if I can find alternatives :)
Don't be a follower, don't be mislead, find out the facts and use yer dang head!
